Juul to pay $1.7B to settle Youth Vaping Lawsuits: Juul Labs, Inc. has agreed to pay $1.7B in a broad settlement covering over 5000 lawsuits. Many of these lawsuits claimed that Juul targeted teens, which the company denied.
SpaceX’s Starlink Announces 1M Users; Starlink V2 Planned to Launch this month: On Monday, Starlink announced it had reached the 1M user mark. In addition, Starlink’s next-gen satellites are expected to launch later this month.
Plaid Lays Off 20% of Staff: Plaid announced it has laid off 20% of its staff, or 260 employees. Plaid’s CEO Zach Perret says this is due to rapid hiring and growth during COVID, followed by slower growth likely caused by macroeconomic shifts.
Instacart Introduces Discounted Subscription for SNAP Users: Users who have used EBT SNAP through Instacart in the past six months can now purchase a membership subscription for 50% of the regular cost. The company claims it can reach 95% of those experiencing nutritional insecurity in the US.
